VISIT TO RAZZAQABAD: when i went to razzaqab , my first impression was very satisfactory that they have organized camps and with water facilities and women were doing their usual work for example making tea, washing clothes and etc. volunteers from differnt organizations were busy in activities with kids and medical camp with docters were there with ambulances and fire brigade. but what people were demanding was proper food distribution. as we witnesed also people were rushing to food and and distributers were beating affectees.
FIRST VISIT TO HAWKSBAY CAMP (KIMARI): When i went to kimari camp the fisrt impression was very good. they were 850 camps in 8 lanes and proper sicurity surrounded by camp area. but when we entered we saw an extreemly well equiped medical camp with both male and female docters and nurses organized by singh police hospital. they got 15 beds and 2 ambulances and enough amount of medicens. as in first visit people were complaning lots of problems and the biggest problem was food distribution and water facillites. people were filling water from bathroom tanks. and there bathroom condition was terrible. they dont have hygine sense at all. thats why they were facing gastro problems and skin diseases. affcetess were telling us they dont have enough water for drinking purpose how can we get bath. and second biggest problem was food and milk for childeren. one thing which clicked me was big blue water coolers at the end of every lane and they were empty. people were not filling there indual coolers from them. and on thing there was no activiy going inbetween them. women were doing nothing nor men. both of them were just rushing to relief and complaning. childeren were roming her and there. it was differnt experiance than razzaqabad.
SECOND VISIT TO HAWKSBAY CAMP(KIMARI): On second visit to hawksbay camp the situation was totaly different. water and food distribution were solved. childeren were taking bath, women were busy in making tea and in doing handicrafts. childeren were having biscuits and playing with each other. but still there was no volunteers in camp those who make childern busy in activities. on very positive thing i saw was mardam shumari ( counting of people). government emplyees were visiting every single camp and counting each family members and updating there data. this can help them in shifting affectees to there villages. men are also start doing work. they go for daily wages jobs like masionry etc. this shows that people want settle now.
now this shows how we can start thinking to rebuilt there homes and help them in re settling.
