General View: It was a good relaxing day, no one rushed to us, and we were not pulled over to some camp, not pushed to one side. Things had calmed down, and no one was in a rush to get anything or everything. The food and daily usage items were delivered to families in their tents, so there was no fight over food and other stuff. People had accepted the fact they had been displaced and they have to live here for a certain period of time, they had started washing their clothes, bringing their creativity in use, going out to work on daily wages, and taking care of their hygiene.

Specific Issues: Almost everyone had shifted at the camp a week back, so they were registered and provided with all the facilities; kitchen utensils, detergents, groceries, proper bathing and drinking water. People were complaining that its different organizations who is helping them but not the government. They want proper bedding and nets to safe them from mosquito and insects’ bites.

Facilities:

FOOD: Cooked foods as well as groceries have been provided to the IDPs by the local organizations along with the utensils, now people don’t have to line up at the camp to get the food. People are tired of eating like food as in briyani or aalu-palak. Administration is providing tea, milk to the families so they can make tea according to their wish. It’s giving the families a good time to relax together and have a good time.

BEVERAGES: One tent is provided with a cooler to fill in water for their daily use. Four water tankers a day come to fill in the tank at the camp. Now because everyone has got everything, it is easier for them to safe water for their kids.

HYGIENE/TOILETS: Each family is provided with detergents to wash clothes and their utensils as well as soap and daily toiletries to bathe their kids. We visited the camp in the evening and kids seemed fresh, some were taking bath and other looked clean and sparkling.

MEDICAL: City government has provided 7 ambulances for emergency at the medical camp; people who were previously not going to these camps have started visiting and taking in the medicines from the doctors. Those who can’t afford to eat spicy food, get biscuits and milk from the medical camp.
